Drew,
My inspiration was also Ansel Adams, and the landscape photos you have taken look awesome. The only question I have is how come you didn't take photos in black and white? The research I found showed that was a main component of his photos. Other than that, the shots you took are unreal. I have never seen the Grand Canyon before and your photos really sum up the magnitude and sheer size of one of the biggest crevasses in the entire world. Great Job.

Final Project
Drew Ortega
Ansel Adams was an environmentalist and photographer from San Francisco, California. Due to his possible case of dyslexia and shyness, he didn't fit in at school which then made him turn to nature. He used black and white photography in the western United States. He took pictures to promote and maintain the goals of the Sierra Club, a group from San Francisco, who motto is to explore, maintain, and protect the planet.
Ansel Adam's took pictures to show the beautiful landscape through nature and I used that idea to take pictures of various Arizona locations. I choose Ansel Adams because his pictures are so detailed and he doesn't use technology to warp the image. He lets nature, be nature. Unlike Adams, I did not use black and white approach I like the color and use the lighting of the sun to show my views of the desert landscape. In my first project I loved using lighting and thats what I used for these pictures. Some of these pictures I drove to flagstaff and to the Grand Canyon. The other were taken in Bear Saw canyon and the greater tucson area. In my first photo project I used my camera phone for this project, I got my Nikon D3100 from home. In these picture you a 100% difference in the clarity of the pictures.
The picture of the mountains on fire is from last year I was in the Flagstaff area and I saw the fire burning beautifully as the sun is going down. You see the smoke forming into the clouds and the bright red ashes coming from the mountains. This picture centers on the fire that ravages the landscape to create this once in a lifetime image.
.
This picture is at the Grand Canyon as the sun is going down. This picture lets me escape the city noise to feel the peace and tranquility of the desert can give you. This wasn't a man made creation, it was a natural formation
This picture is off the side of the road during a partly cloudy day. The saguaros and mountains capture the serenity of the desert landscape.
This picture looks like it was taken straight out of a textbook.I was hiking the Grand Canyon and turned and saw this beautiful sight. If you added the black and white effect, you might think you ran across some ancient civilization in between the valley of the mountains
For this picture I asked my friend, Lindsey, to help me out. I had her hold a flower and I zoomed in on the flower to see the beauty of the flower. Ansel Adams had a picture of a flower but it was in black and white I did the same but added the color.
This is picture is during the day while I was at the Grand Canyon. You see the cool river water in the beautiful desert climate. Like Adams showed the Sierra Nevada's, I showed the beauty of the Grand Canyon.
